Total recovered since Securitas raid reaches £20m

POLICE investigating the £53million robbery at the Securitas cash depot in Tonbridge have confirmed that nearly £20million of the stolen money has now been recovered.

The cash haul discovered in a lock-up garage in Southborough on Sunday amounted to a total of £8.6million, which brought the total found so far to £19.7million.

Previously, £1.3million was discarded in a white Ford Transit van found in a car park at Ashford International Hotel two days after the robbery and smaller amounts have subsequently been found during other police searches.

The largest single discovery made so far was £9.6million, which was found at an industrial site in Welling on March 2.

The raid at the depot on Vale Road took place on February 22.
