Three people were led to safety from a house fire in Kent today.

Firefighters were called to the property on Postling Road, Cheriton, near Folkestone, at around 6.20am.

They used breathing apparatus to enter the property and rescue the trio after the fire broke out in the kitchen.

The casualties were treated for smoke inhalation with oxygen therapy. They were taken to hospital but were not detained.

An investigation into the cause is now under way.
