Woman driver killed in crash on A21

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman died in a two-car crash on the A21 in Kent.

The woman was driving a silver VW Polo which was in collision with a blue Vauxhall Astra.

The man driving the Astra was taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells with minor injuries.

The tragedy happened on the southbound carriageway of the A21 at the junction with Hastings Road, about half a mile before the Kippings Cross-Blue Boys roundabout.

The name of the woman who died has not yet been released by police. Her next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified.

Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles before the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.
