Woman injured in road crash

A 22 year old woman was airlifted to hospital after her Renault car was in collision with a Saab on the A262 between Cranbrook and Goudhurst.

The crash, about 100 yards from the junction with Chalk Lane, happened at 6.55am today.(Tuesday July 29)and led to the closure of the road between the B2085 and A229 until just before midday.

The woman was taken by Kent Air Ambulance to King's College Hospital, London, with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

The Saab driver was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital, Tunbridge Wells. He is not believed to be seriously hurt.

Police are now appealing for information,

in particular for possible witnesses including the driver of a small black car and the woman driver of a red taxi.
