Woman killed on railway track

A woman is believed to have committed suicide when she was hit by a train on Monday night.

Police were called at 8.30pm after reports the woman – who has yet to be identified – was killed on a foot crossing between Glebe Way and Clifton Road in Whitstable.

The track was closed for more than an hour while officers from British Transport Police investigated.

A spokesman said the death was being treated as a “non-suspicious fatality”.
