A 22-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist has been killed in a road accident in a Kent village.

The victim died when he came off his bike in Hampstead Road, Yalding, near Maidstone, at around noon on Sunday.

Ilhan Tuncay, from Croydon, had been part of a group of bikers who were riding from south London to Rye Harbour for breakfast, returning through the Kent villages.

Hampstead Road was closed for five hours on Sunday, while a team of police traffic investigation officers examined the road.

Mr Tuncay's friends and fellow bikers remained at the scene to lay flowers once police had left the scene.

Mr Tuncay's friend, Mark Watson, from Croydon, said: "I cannot believe he has gone and so suddenly.

"He was behind me and suddenly I heard the crash of his bike against the road. Everything had been going smoothly - it was just a normal day out."
