Youth in street gang attack

POLICE are appealing for information after a 17-year-old boy was assaulted as he walked home.

The incident occurred in Brompton Road, Gillingham, between 5.45pm and 6.05pm on Sunday.

The victim was walking along the road when a group of around seven teenagers approached him.

One of the group, a teenage male, started talking to him and after asking him several questions, he is reported to have assaulted him.

It is alleged the other members of the group also punched the 17-year-old.

The boy managed to run away from them and the police were called. He did not suffer any lasting injuries.

The main suspect is described as being a white male, aged between 16 and 18-years-old, around 5’7” tall, of medium build with short dark brown gelled hair.

He wore a dark blue hooded top with the hood pulled up; dark tracksuit bottoms and a black scarf over the bottom half of his face.
