BROMLEY let slip a two goal lead in the final six minutes in the 2-2 draw against early season Blue Square South pacesetters Lewes on Wednesday night.

They led 2-0 after only 17 minutes at the Dripping Pan with goals by Danny Hockton and Nic McDonnell, before home substitutes, new signing Matt Groves and Leon Legge salvaged an unlikely point for the home side.

Hockton fired them in front as early as the eighth minute, outpacing a defender before shooting home from just inside the box, and McDonnell doubled the lead, with a low finish. They held the advantage until the 84th minute when Groves pulled one back, and then Legge headed Lewes level with a far post header.

Bromley new signing, former Crawley Town player-manager Ben Judge had a solid debut, and the result leaves Mark Goldberg's team seven. A win would have taken them fourth.
