LOYAL Sittingbourne AC Associates Crusders Speedway rider Shane Colvin has done his bit for club fund-raising by auctioning his 2004 Crusaders Knockout Cup campaign jacket on internet site eBay.

Colvin has offered to leave the grass stains and dirt on the much-travelled jacket for the delight of the lucky purchaser! The highest bid at the moment is £45.

A more aesthetically pleasing fund-raising item will feature in the raffle at the club's annual presentation evening on Saturday, November 12 as supporters are given the chance to win a commemorative mud-guard, hand-painted by skipper Chris Hunt.

The Wooden Spoon may be the only official reward for the efforts put into a first national league season for nine years, but the club supporters and the Old Gun Site management will want to emphasise the positives at the event.

The venue for the all-ticket affair (including disco and buffet) is the Shurland Hotel, High St., Eastchurch on the Isle of Sheppey. Tickets are free but must be obtained before the night from supporters club secretary, Shannon Ruane on 07748 804151.

Meanwhile, popular reserve Jordan Frampton made a final outing of a successful 2005 campaign with a six point return in the King of the Wessex individual championship at Weymouth on Friday night.

Any concerns that the Wiltshire-based speedster may be considering a more permanent spell with the Dorset club were quashed when the 20-year-old said: "I had a great year – though interrupted by injury - at Sittingbourne and provided the club decide to line up again in the Conference in 2006, I intend to be back with the Crusaders in the spring."
