Faversham Town celebrate one of their five goals against Worthing

Only three Kent clubs made it through the FA Cup preliminary round on Saturday. Four will be involved in replays on Tuesday night but 10 others crashed out on a disappointing weekend for the county.

Faversham Town beat Worthing 5-1 at Salters Lane to set up a first qualifying round clash with Cray Wanderers. Wayne Wilson, Darren Marsden, Matt Bourne, Danny Hockton and Brendon Cass were on target for Ray Turner's side.

In the all-Kent clash at Park View Road, Chatham Town thrashed local rivals Erith & Belvedere 5-0. Goals from Brad Potter, Austin Gacheru, Alfie May, Greg Benbow and Andy Constable - against his former club - handed the Chats their second big win over the Deres in the space of a week. They will host East Preston in the next round.

The only other Kent club to make it through on Saturday was Sittingbourne. They won 1-0 at Chessington & Hook thanks to a Joe Taylor goal. Next up for the Brickies is a home tie against Littlehampton Town.

Whitstable Town and Tunbridge Wells must do it all again on Tuesday night after playing out a 0-0 draw in front of 414 at Culverden Stadium.

A stoppage-time equaliser from Danny Walder kept Herne Bay in the competition as they drew 2-2 at Eastbourne United. Walder had earlier put Bay in front from the penalty spot.

Folkestone Invicta were twice in front against Molesey at the Fullicks Stadium but they, too, face a replay after the visitors came back to earn a 3-3 draw. Stuart King, Frankie Chappell and Johan Ter Horst scored Folkestone's goals.

It was a tale of woe for the rest of the county's clubs. Hythe Town lost 2-1 at Three Bridges and also had Pat Kingwell sent-off, while Ramsgate were beaten 1-0 at Hastings.

A first defeat of the season sent VCD Athletic tumbling out of the cup. Peter Smith scored for the Vickers but they lost 3-1 at home to Burgess Hill Town.

Deal Town lost 4-2 at Merstham, Ashford United were beaten 4-0 at Peacehaven & Telscombe and Holmesdale lost an eight-goal thriller 5-3 at Horley Town.

Corinthian were edged out 1-0 at Eastbourne Town, Cray Valley lost 2-0 at home to Redhill and Erith Town crashed 3-0 at Corinthian Casuals.

Meanwhile, there was a full fixture programme in the Ryman League Premier Division.

Goals from Frannie Collin and Alex Brown fired Maidstone United to a 2-0 win over leaders Kingstonian in front of 1,775 at the Gallagher Stadium.

Margate are up to second after they won 2-0 at Met Police. Zac Attwood - from the penalty spot - and Lanre Azeez struck inside the last 12 minutes at Imber Court.

But there were defeats for Thamesmead Town, beaten 3-1 at Enfield, and Cray Wanderers, who were humbled 7-1 at Wealdstone.
