GILLS relegation woes took a nose-dive in Cardiff as they were beaten 3-1 at Ninian Park.

Two goals from Peter Thorne and an opener from Cameron Jerome heaped more pressure on the Gills who could take little from the game.

The management combo of Iwan Roberts, Paul Smith, Darren Hare and Paul Scally could do little as their team were beaten comfortably by fellow strugglers Cardiff.

Tommy Johnson, making his first start of the season, scored his second is an many games to fire Gills level after they had fallen behind in the fourteenth minute.
