KENT are bracing themselves in anticipation of yet another international call-up for their overseas all-rounder Andrew Hall, slap bang in the middle of this season’s Twenty20 campaign.

The county have yet to hear from South Africa coach Mickey Arthur that Hall has been included in his squad for a triangular one-day series to be played in Ireland in late June.

However, the expectation is that, for the third season running, the 32-year-old from Johannesburg, will be whipped away by the Proteas’ management.

In the worst case scenario Hall, who is centrally contracted to the South African cricket board, will miss three games of Kent’s eight-match cup qualifying campaign that starts on Friday June, 22, and ends on Friday, July 6.

It is known that the club’s coaching team are hunting for a suitable replacement for Hall, not only as locum for this possible absence, but also from September when Hall is almost certain to be miss the last fortnight of the domestic campaign to play in the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa.

Not surprisingly, county officials refused to be drawn over likely replacements for Hall until they know for certain that his services will be required in Ireland, but Hall’s agent, former Lancashire and England batsman Neil Fairbrother, is believed to be working on resolving the club versus country issue.
