GILLINGHAM boss Ronnie Jepson has targeted Crewe striker Michael Higdon as his search for fresh faces continues.

The 23-year-old is out-of-contract at Crewe after turning down the offer of a new two-year deal, but the Alex will still be due compensation because of the player's age.

Jepson has admitted Higdon is one he would like to sign.

"I phoned up and asked about the player's availability," he confirmed.
