Keeper Bossu on standby for Gills

WAITING GAME: Bertrand Bossu
WAITING GAME: Bertrand Bossu

GILLINGHAM could be without key personnel against Norwich at Priestfield tonight when they look to bounce back from their 5-0 drubbing at Cardiff on Saturday.

Manager Andy Hessenthaler has an injury doubt over goalkeeper Jason Brown (ribs) so new French keeper Bertrand Bossu is on standby.

Definitely missing will be Mamady Sidibe who is on international duty with Mali.

The good news is that Tommy Johnson is available again after serving a three-match ban while skipper Paul Smith back is after recovering from a knee injury.

Hessenthaler is a likely starter with Mark Saunders and Rod Wallace also pushing for a place in the team.

Norwich could field all three of their new signings with Kevin Harper, Peter Crouch and Darren Huckerby all in line to start.

Gillingham coach Wayne Jones said: “Huckerby had only just joined Forest when they played at Priestfield last year and he scored two and made one - so we'll have to watch him."

He stressed that it was important to prove that the defeat against Cardiff was a one-off.
