Keeper departs as clear-out gathers pace

EXIT: Tony Bullock
EXIT: Tony Bullock

TONY BULLOCK has become the latest player to leave Gillingham as manager Ronnie Jepson's clear-out continunes.

The keeper has joined Scottish division 1 outfit St Mirren on a two-year deal to end his brief stint at Priestfield.

Bullock, who was Neale Cooper's first signing, made 10 appearances for the club - the last being the 5-0 thrashing at Colchester.

Striker Steven Hislop has also returned to Scotland with SPL side Livingston.

The two departures follow those of Mark Saunders, Paul Smith and Tom Williams as Jepson tries to trim his squad to cut costs.

Jepson said: "I've quite a big squad and that needs trimming but we can wait until the end of the season if we have to."

Other players leaving the club could be captain Chris Hope, who is having his situation monitored by former club Scunthorpe and the transfer-listed Richard Rose.

However, supporters will be hoping the club can hang onto prize asset Matt Jarvis, who has attracted interest from several high-profile clubs.
