DAVID FULTON: Scored 39 before rain intervened

KENT'S totesport League clash with Hampshire was abandoned as a draw after rain washed out the second innings of the game.

Kent, batting first after winning the toss, posted 169 for nine on a difficult pitch at Hedge End.

With the wicket helping spinners and seamers alike Kent slumped to 98 for five before skipper David Fulton salvaged the innings with 39.

But rain started falling during the tea break and it grew heavier and heavier.

No further play was possible thereafter with each team claiming two points apiece.
