Mos aim for quick double

INVICTA Dynamos will be looking to complete a back-to-back double over Streatham Redskins at Gillingham Ice Bowl on Sunday.

Last weekend in the English National League South, Kevin Parrish’s side beat Redskins 5-1 on the road, with Peter Carey (0+2) named player of the match.

Streatham paid the price for being caught out twice with the Dynamos offensive speed, especially on the penalty kill.

In fact the Mos’ first two goals were scored shorthanded on the break by AJ Smith (1+1) and Andy Smith (2+1). Alex Shaw (1+1) and Donald Gagnon (1+0) also got on the scoresheet before the home side netted a consolation goal through Shane Walsh at 39.54.

Parrish was happy with his team’s performance, even though no goals were added in the third period.

He said: "We had lots of shots in the final period but just didn’t catch any of them well enough. I’m happy to score five away from home especially up there where the rink, boards and facilities are not that great.

"Two were shorthanded as well, which you’re not really meant to score although we seem to be doing it quite regularly with the pace of our forwards."

On the subject of conceding, Parrish added: "We fell asleep six minutes before the end of the second period and a bad line change from a couple of our players cost us a clean sheet.

"We out-skated them in the first period and they tired so we will be looking to do that again and improve on the goal scoring on home ice."
