BEST CHANCE: Ian Cox sent a header wide
BEST CHANCE: Ian Cox sent a header wide

Rotherham 0 - 0 Gillingham

NEITHER side has been able to find a breakthrough in a dull first half at Millmoor.

Gillingham’s best chance fell to Ian Cox five minutes before half-time, but he failed to connect properly with a free header from a corner and the ball flew wide.

Darren Byfield and Matt Jarvis both had half chances, but were unable to find the target.

The home side had the better of the early opportunities.

Gills goalkeeper Jason Brown was relieved as a shot from Deon Burton hit Cox, but bounced just wide of the post.

Brown later made a comfortable save from a long-range Lee Williamson effort.

Rotherham had a penalty shout turned down on the stroke of half-time.

Gillingham: Brown, Rose, Cox, Hope, Jackman, Crofts, Pouton, Flynn, Jarvis, Harris, Byfield. Subs: Crichton, Corneille, Hessenthaler, Hislop, Shields.
