Gillingham defender John Nutter will face a battle to be fit for Saturday’s trip to Millwall after picking up an injury in the 2-1 win over Luton on Tuesday night.

The left-back has been an ever-present for Gillingham manager Mark Stimson but Nutter was forced off after an hour with a hamstring injury.

Stimson, however, believes the 25-year-old has a good chance of recovery.

“Hopefully he’ll be fine for the weekend and we’ll assess that,” said the Gills boss.

“John looks after himself the right way and he’ll do everything right to give himself the opportunity to be ready for Millwall on Saturday.”
