Watford v Charlton

CHARLTON entertain leaders Watford in the Championship's match of the day on Saturday with manager Alan Pardew declaring that he is not concerned which route the club go down to win promotion.

Pardew said: "The vision for the club is a return to the Premier League, whichever route that takes, be it automatic promotion or via the play-offs.

"We've had a solid season, though we've not embarked on a fantastic run. Hopefully that's to come. If we can do that, then we'll find ourselves in the top two.

"As a manager the play-offs hold no fears for me because I've known good and bad times with my previous clubs. But I do know what it takes and we have the tools at this club to cope with that."

Pardew confirmed that defender Kelly Youga, who is suspended for the following week's match at Blackpool, will start against Watford.

There was speculation that in the light of his impending suspension he would be left out but Pardew said: "He definitely plays."

Midfielder Darren Ambrose is doubtful through illness and Madjid Bougherra, who missed a midweek reunion with former club Sheffield Wednesday, is still troubled by an ankle injury.

Midfielder Jerome Thomas has recovered from illness and is fit to resume while fellow midfielder Lee Cook, signed on loan from Fulham, could make his home debut after coming on as a substitute on Tuesday at Hillsborough.
