Premier Cup clash facing ice men

THE Gillingham-based Invicta Dynamos ice hockey team's next fixture takes place at the Ice Bowl at 5.15pm on Sunday against Chelmsford in the Premier Cup.

They return to English National League South action with a trip to Gosport on Sunday, January 4.

Last Sunday, Dynamos took advantage of Oxford City Stars’ bye week to go top of the English National League South. The Mos beat Basingstoke Buffaloes 7-5 to go one point clear, with a game in hand over the Stars.

But the game started badly for the Mos at the Gillingham Ice Bowl and they found themselves 3-0 down after just five minutes.

The team recovered, though, and began to fight their way back into the game.

Gary Dodds and Pete Carey both scored two goals and Peter Beerling, Phil Chard and Dan Fudger got one each as the home team made it 5-5 with six minutes to play and went on to score two late goals.
