Southern League Division 1 East round-up

CHATHAM Town suffered their first league defeat of the season with a disappointing 1-0 reverse at Barton Rovers on Saturday.

Paul Barnes scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in first half stoppage time.

The game was stopped for around half an hour in the second half after the goal scorer Barnes was knocked unconscious, but fortunately he did not need to go to hospital, despite an ambulance turning up.

Dartford also travel home empty handed after a heavy 4-1 defeat at Corby Town.

Kevin Spriggs scored the Darts' consolation goal.

But it was better news for Sittingbourne, who won 2-0 at Barking & East Ham United.
