Steer stays but Peters goes

Jaime Peters has left Gillingham

Rene Steer has agreed to extend his loan spell with Gillingham for another month.

The young left-back has recently broken into the Gills first team at the expense of John Nutter.

Steer’s appearance on Saturday against Macclesfield was his third since joining the Gills on loan from Arsenal.

Fellow loan player Jaime Peters, however, has decided not to extend his spell after his month deal came to an end on Saturday.

The Ipswich winger was left out of the side on Saturday and was frustrated at a lack of first team action.
