A TESTIMONIAL match for Chatham Town FC's Garry Tilley tonight (Tuesday) has been postponed due to bad weather.

Tilley, recovering after breaking his right leg for a third time in two years, was to see his club take on Charlton's Academy side at Maidstone Road.

A waterlogged pitch has put paid to the game, although Chatham are hoping to confirm a new date with the Addicks in due course.

Tilley will have been with the club 10 years next month.

The player, married with young sons, Jamie, four and Connor, eight months, is hoping the full plaster on his right leg will be removed in four weeks' time and he will get the all-clear to return to work after Christmas.

He is a carpet-fitter and has been unable to work since sustaining the injury during a pre-season friendly at Thamesmead.
