THE new-look Invicta Dynamos ice hockey team open their English National Hockey League campaign against Bracknell Hornets on Sunday at the Gillingham Ice Bowl.

Player-coach Phil Chard will have a full squad to choose from for the first game (face-off 5.15pm) and Mos will hope to hit the ground running after dropping down from the English National League due to financial woes.

The Dynamos, though, will be without Duane Ward, who is still in Canada and hasn’t contacted anyone at the club.

Club secretary Jackie Mason said: “The Mustangs played in this division last season but we’ve strengthened considerably and we’ll have to see what the standard’s like.

“We need to be successful but we badly need a sponsor so we can go back up next season and be financially secure in the English National Premier League and success will hopefully make us more attractive.”

The Dynamos have announced they have a shirt sponsor in the shape of Hospital Lane Dental Services.
