PENNOCK: "I want 11 players who are going to show they are winners"

Welling United v Newport County

WELLING manager Adrian Pennock has demanded that his side show their battling qualities at home to Newport County on Saturday.

The Wings are back in the relegation dogfight after losing at lowly Maidenhead and Pennock has warned his squad not to repeat that display in front of their home fans.

Pennock said: "We’ve got four games left and they are all big matches. Newport is a big game for us – the results have gone our way in the last week but we need to get another win.

"I need the players to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in, I want 11 players who are going to show they are winners.

"It’s going to be tight but we have to stick together. The away form was fantastic until last week so hopefully the home form will turn around now."

Pennock has doubts over Onome Sodje (Achilles), Danny Slatter (groin) and Moussa Sidibe (knee) but James Smith returns from suspension.
