Arrest after rings allegedly stolen from Goldsmiths in Fremlin Walk Maidstone

Police hunting a man who allegedly snatched rings worth thousands of pounds from a shop worker’s hand have made an arrest.

It happened at Goldsmiths in Fremlin Walk, Maidstone, at around 9.45am last Thursday, and led to a chase involving police and security guards through the town centre.

The alleged thief was said to have run into King Street before disappearing.

A 38-year-old man from East Sussex has since been arrested on suspicion of theft and bailed, pending further investigation, until Friday, July 22.
