Police have charged a woman following a second bomb hoax in Tunbridge Wells in two weeks.

The latest incident occurred on Tuesday and was directed at the American Embassy in London.

Jessica Lang, 49, of Stephens Road, Tunbridge Wells was arrested yesterday morning and has been charged with communicating false information and a separate count of shoplifting.

She has been bailed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates Court on Tuesday, December 6.

It follows the arrest of Paul Starbuck, 47, who admitted to making a bomb hoax call on Wednesday, November 9 when he claimed to have planted a device at the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells where singer Shakin’ Stevens was performing.
