An episode of DIY SOS filmed in Maidstone last year will be broadcast on Tuesday

A community effort which brought together dozens of tradesmen and women from businesses across west Kent to give an injured ex-serviceman an adapted home will be shown on national television next week.

The BBC’s DIY SOS team came to Western Road in Fant last December to renovate former Para Mo Morris’ end-of-terrace property.

The ex-serviceman had long dreamed of a downstairs bedroom, after a parachuting accident 10 years ago left him unable to walk unaided.

The work took 10 days and produced a buzz in the area, as presenter Nick Knowles and The Big Build team visited several local events. The show will be broadcast on Tuesday evening at 9pm.
