Delays clear after multi-vehicle crash on A229 Blue Bell Hill between Maidstone and Chatham

Delays on a major road have now cleared after a multi-vehicle crash.

Traffic was heavy on the Maidstone-bound A229 at Blue Bell Hill following an accident involving two cars this morning.

It happened about 8.30am between the B2097 Rochester Road, near the Lord Lees roundabout, to the Eccles turnoff in Chatham.

The roundabout also connects motorists to London and Canterbury via the M2.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “We was called at 8.26am on Tuesday, December 5 to a collision involving two vehicles on the Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A229 near Blue Bell Hill.

“Officers attended the scene where no injuries were reported and arrangements were made to recover the vehicles.”
