Yesterday a snap was taken of a geyser of water spewing from one of the valves outside the Vets4Pets veterinary surgery at the junction with Sutton Road.

One resident commenting on its size, reported it resembling a “display fountain in a public park”.

South East Water told KentOnline it had been made aware of an issue since Thursday, October 12 and has put it down to a leak in a “communication pipe”. It has been approached for further information.

Meanwhile, Grove Road has been closed since September 27 by gas distributors SGN who are currently carrying out maintenance work.

The closure is scheduled to continue until November 17.

SGN says is not aware of any leak or of its work being impacted by any water trouble.
