HUME: "Our form throughout January has been a lot better than theirs"

Dover Athletic v Maidstone United

MAIDSTONE United joint-manager Lloyd Hume has laughed off suggestions his team are worried about their trip to Ryman League Division 1 South leaders Dover on Saturday.

Dover’s caretaker boss Terry White claimed earlier this week that Maidstone wouldn’t be looking forward to visiting Crabble for the crunch clash.

But Hume, whose team have won seven of their last eight league games and have suffered only one defeat since November 11 last year, said: "I was amused when I heard Terry say.

"Our form throughout January has been a lot better than theirs and I thought at the time that he should probably be more concerned about their game at Tooting on Tuesday than worrying about us.

"They ended up losing that 4-1, so maybe I was right. I’ve known Terry a long time and took what he said with a pinch of salt but I can assure him everyone at Maidstone is looking forward to the game."
