A man wanted in connection with a theft has been arrested following a car crash in Maidstone.

Emergency services were called to Sandling Lane just after 8pm yesterday to reports of a collision involving a silver Vauxhall Astra.

Officers attended the scene and a 23-year-old man from Ashford was arrested after initial inquiries found he was wanted in connection to a theft offence.

He was also arrested on suspicion of driving offences and remains in custody this morning.
