Maidstone: Man arrested over ID offence during raid on Adam's Barbers, Week Street

A man was arrested on suspicion of possessing false identification during a raid on a Maidstone barbers yesterday.

The suspect, who was spotted being led away in handcuffs and put into the back of a van, was later de-arrested.

Police officers, some wearing riot gear, stormed Adam's Barbers and adjoining Starburger yesterday lunch time in an investigation linked to drugs and immigration offences.

They were accompanied by sniffer dogs and officers from Immigration Enforcement.

Starburger is joined with the Week Street barbers at the back and was also searched.

The arrested man is believed to be here on holiday.

A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed they were executing a pre-planned warrant and the investigation remains active.
