An underground fire led to road closures in Tunbridge Wells this morning.
Firefighters were called to Mount Pleasant Road, at 6.01am following reports of a fire in a manhole. They discovered an electricity junction box "steaming and producing smoke" and a 30m exclusion zone was set up.
Police were also called and the town-centre road was closed between Newton Road and Monson Road, while EDF Energy engineers dealt with the incident.
Dudley Road was also shut, but all roads were reopened at 10.15am.
