The other is around 45, about 5ft 6in of thin build with short dark hair.

Det Insp Kevin Downard said: “This is a disgraceful incident with two elderly victims in their own home.

“We have already carried out house to house enquiries and are speaking with local residents who may have been in the area at the time of the offence.

“This is an extremely unusual crime in Medway.

“The van almost crashed into another vehicle as it left the driveway of the home.

“We would like any motorists who were in the area at that time to come forward.

“It was a distinctive blue van with white lettering on the side.”
