Coalition is the likely outcome say students

Can't wait to find out who will be running the country tomorrow? There's no need. The students at Maidstone Girls Grammar School have it all worked out.

They have been thinking about the likely election scenarios as part of their weekly "thunk" sessions, and yesterday the school conducted a poll to find out what the pupils thought would happen.

To the question: In the forthcoming General Election which do you think is the most likely outcome:

The answers were:

One party will have an overall majority to form a government. 14%

No party will have enough seats to form a government on their own but the party with the largest number of seats will form a minority government and work with other parties on a vote by vote basis. 16%

There will be a formal coalition between the party which gained the most seats and another party. 46%

There will be a formal coalition between the party which gained the most seats and at least two other parties. 10%

No party will have enough seats to form a government on their own but the party that got the second largest number of seats forms a government with the help of one or more other parties. 12%

None of the above. 3%

So it's more of the same then.
