A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 39-year-old father-of-six.

Jamie Potter, 34, of Felderland Close, Maidstone, appeared at Maidstone Magistrates Court on Friday, charged with the murder of Jimmy Brooker, of Mote Road, Maidstone.

He was remanded in custody.

Mr Brooker died in hospital after being found with fatal stab wounds on Monday evening.

A preliminary hearing was set for Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, September 22.
