Teenagers die in road crash horror

POLICE are today investigating the cause of a head-on road crash which claimed the lives of two 16-year-old boys.

The tragedy happened at the junction of Lidsing Road and Dunn Street at Bredhurst, near Maidstone, at about 7.40pm on Monday when a BMW and a Renault travelling in opposite directions were in collision.

One teenager in the Renault was pronounced dead at the scene while another died later in hospital. It is believed both of them lived in the Maidstone area.

The driver and a fourth passenger in the Renault were treated in hospital. Police say their injuries are not life-threatening.

The driver and a passenger in the BMW were also taken to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and later released.

The teenagers who died have not yet been named. The coroner is being informed and an inquest will be held.
