Mourners gathered today to say their final goodbye to stabbing victim Tom Crittenden.

Dozens of the 'gentle giant’s’ family and friends were expected to attend his funeral at Vinters Park Crematorium at 10.15am.

The 21-year-old, of Marion Crescent, Maidstone, died of a single stab wound on Sunday, September 25.

Flower tributes still lay at the spot just off Sutton Road where paramedics battled to save the former Cornwallis Academy pupil.

In a statement, his parents Paul and Glenda and brother Sam said: “He was known as a gentle giant and he was dearly loved by everyone who knew him.”

Caleb White, 18, of Cornwall Close, Shepway, will go on trial for murder in April. Four other suspects have been released on bail.
