Tommy Warrilow is hoping an enforced 17-day break will not hinder his Tonbridge Angels side.

Angels game at home to Concord Rangers on Tuesday will be their first since November 27, after the cold weather forced a raft of postponements, including Tuesday’s Kent Senior Cup tie at Dartford and Saturday’s Ryman League Premier Division trip to Maidstone.

Warrilow (pictured) said: "I was hoping to get a game in against Dartford just to break up the two weeks, but it’s ended up being a nightmare with no game for 17 days. But what can you do?"

Warrilow revealed there was even a power failure at the ground on Tuesday which prevented the squad from taking part in a full training session.

He added: "We are trying to keep positive. We had a few niggles and injuries so it’s given us more time to heal.

"But we have had two 10-day breaks already and now a 17-day one. We’ve lost more than a month of football and we’re only four months into the season."

He added: "We have got a difficult month coming up. It will be important to stay in contention over the next 10 or 11 games.

"Noone is really talking about us, but I am quite happy where we are, I think we are sitting in a good position and if we can stay tough to beat and turn some draws into wins we’ll start to climb the table."
