The Phoenix bar in Bank Street, Maidstone, goes on the market for £600,000

A town centre bar has been put on the market for more than half a million pounds.

The Phoenix in Bank Street, Maidstone, is closing and has been put up for sale.

It is a grade-II listed building with a two-bedroom flat on the upper floor while the bottom floor is partially used as accommodation and a bar.

On the first floor to the front is a commercial kitchen and one-bedroom flat which has separate access to the rear.

The bar is huddled in between a number of other night-time establishments, including The Brenchley, Bierkeller and Banks bar.

The 1,585 sq ft site can be used for general retails, restaurants or cafés as well as leisure activities or properties.

It will be welcoming customers for the last time on Saturday, October 14.

A spokesman said: “Next Saturday it’s the very last part at The Phoenix before we close our doors for the last time.”

There will be music from Disco Daze and doors open from 8pm and it is free to enter.
