Two injured in Detling crash

Two women were taken to hospital after a two-car collision on the northbound A249 at Detling last night.
A passenger, said to be in her 60s, suffered a head injury in the accident which happened at about 5.20pm near the Kent County Showground.
She was cut free from her car before being taken by road ambulance to Kings College Hospital in London. She was later discharged.
The driver of the other car, believed to be in her late 20s, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital. Her injuries were not thought to be serious.
Firefighters from Maidstone and Sittingbourne attended the accident in which both cars overturned.
They used hydraulic equipment to remove the roof of the car to release the passenger.
The driver of the other car had escaped her vehicle by the time crews arrived.
One lane of the A249 at Detling Hill remained shut for more than three hours while the accident was cleared.
It caused traffic to tail back as far as junction 7 of the coastbound M20. u3000
The road was fully reopened at 8.50pm. Police are looking into the cause of the accident.
