Kent Police appeal for information about assault in Maidstone subway

Officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed an attack in a Maidstone subway.

Kent Police issued an appeal today for people to come forward with information about an incident which took place in the early hours of Sunday, June 30.

A 20-year-old man said he was assaulted as he walked through an underpass towards Barker Road, near the crown court, at about 12.30am.

The victim, who was with his girlfriend, was approached by four men and a woman.

He was punched in the face by one of the men and required more than 20 stitches to his nose.

His attacker is white, 6ft 6ins, has a slim build and dark hair. He was wearing a navy blue short-sleeved shirt.

The woman the suspect was with has shoulder length blonde hair, is aged between 19 and 20, and is about 5ft 5ins.

They both have Irish accents.

Police have followed various leads and are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
