Maidstone v Hastings

Lloyd Hume says he and Alan Walker will continue to set small targets with their eye always on the bigger picture of Maidstone making the Ryman League, Premier Division play-offs at the end of the season.

Victory against Hastings at Bourne Park on Saturday will complete a six-point Christmas and new year haul, in line with the joint-managers’ expectations.

It is the start of a busy month which includes a trip to fellow play-off contenders Tonbridge.

Hume said: “We like to set the players small targets in games coming up, but bearing in mind all that has happened at the club, we are just happy to be in contention.

“We have a very united squad at the club, who are a pleasure to work with, but when you consider that Nathan Paul and Ben Lewis are the only two players, who were with us at the end of last season, it shows you how much things have changed.”
