There are plans to refurbish an Esso Service Station to make it safer.

At the same time, the company will take the opportunity to raise the canopy over the forecourt to give a 5.2 metre clearance underneath, and also move it and the service pumps slightly towards the right of the site - the exit side.

This is mitigate against traffic queuing for the pumps blocking the entrance to a car park at the rear of the site.

There will be two new tanks, each of 65,000-litre capacity, one for for diesel and one for unleaded.

No alterations are planned to the Tesco Express store on the site, but there will be renewed signage throughout.

The existing car and water service bay will be moved to the rear of the site.
