Police called to Pentagon Shopping Centre in Chatham after security guard is allegedly assaulted

A man has been arrested and is due in court after a security guard was assaulted at a shopping centre.

Police were called to the Pentagon Shopping Centre in Chatham on Tuesday.

Daniel Zucaro, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of assault and theft and later charged after the incident at 9.20am.

Town centre patrols from Chatham and Rochester were sent to the scene.

Officers also reported finding cannabis on the 46-year-old following a search carried out whilst he was in custody, but was not charged in relation to this.

He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates' on Wednesday, February 12.
