The majority of calls were from school leavers who picked up their A-level results this morning.

Sophi Marten, recruitment co-ordinator, says: “It has been a great start to clearing. I am delighted that we have been able to offer places to many of our early callers.

“We are looking forward to helping more higher education hopefuls find the best degree courses to match their career ambitions as Clearing continues.”

The university offered top tips for students ahead of results day.
