Elderly cyclist injured after car drives on wrong side of Stoke Road, in Hoo

A pensioner was injured falling from his bike as he swerved to avoid a car driving down the wrong side of the road.

The cyclist, who is in his 70s, fell on Stoke Road, near an area known as Nora Corner, in Hoo.

The incident happened at around 10.55am on Monday, March 6, as the cyclist was travelling from Allhallows to Stoke.

A dark blue or black coloured Ford Fiesta driving in the opposite direction crossed over onto the wrong side of the road.

The victim swerved to avoid being struck, and came off his bike, suffering multiple injuries which required hospital treatment.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta failed to stop, and officers are urging motorists who may have been in the area to check dashcams for any footage which may assist the investigation.
