Kevin the cat could have travelled from Chatham to West Sussex under the bonnet of a car

Do you recognise this handsome fella?

He could be from the area after he was found under the bonnet of a car which had travelled from the Towns all the way to West Sussex.

The owner of the car, travelled from Chatham to Horsham in West Sussex and after leaving there, journeyed on to Salvington, also in the county where she heard a pitiful meow and opened her bonnet.

To her astonishment, she found this handsome kitten inside.

He is though to between four and five months and if he got in the bonnet in Medway, he travelled almost 95 miles underneath it.

The frightened feline was taken to Grove Lodge vets in Worthing to be checked over, where staff named him Kevin after the character in the festive film, Home Alone.

Kevin has now been taken by staff at the Wadars animal rescue charity in Worthing, West Sussex.

The charity is now desperate to reunite Kevin with his owners in time for Christmas.

Wadars Operations Manager, Tracy Cadman, operations manager, said: “Kevin is a gorgeous little cat and I’m sure that someone is really missing him.

“It’s impossible to know for sure where he climbed into the car, and so our search has to take place in the Chatham, Horsham, and Worthing areas.

“The sad thing is that if Kevin had been microchipped, he would have been back home with his owners by now. Whilst it is a legal requirement for dog owners to chip their pets from 8 weeks of age, the same does not apply to cats, and it’s more often cats that go missing.”

Proof of ownership will be required by anyone claiming to own the kitten, if you think you know Kevin’s owners, call Wadars on 01903 247111.
